Meet The Team
Dean of the College
As dean of the College, Sniegowski has responsibility for undergraduate curricula, programs and students in all departments and nondepartmental programs in Penn Arts & Sciences. He directs the College office and works with the dean of the School of Arts & Sciences on planning and priorities for undergraduate education in the arts and sciences at Penn.
Zachary Zamore is a Senior from Livingston, NJ studying Biology with minors in Chemistry and Neuroscience. In addition to DAB, Zach works as a research assistant in the Sleep Neurobiology and Psychopathology Lab in the medical school, volunteers in the emergency department at the Philadelphia VA Medical Center, and works as a crisis counselor at Crisis Text Line. When he has free time, Zach likes to go on runs in Philadelphia and teach himself how to code. Zach is currently the co-chair of DAB but previously served as the DAB social chair.
Ryan is a Junior in the College studying PPE, with minors in Data Analytics and Business Economics/Public Policy. He is originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Some of his favorite activities include going for hikes/runs, taking his dogs to the park, trying new gluten-free recipes in the kitchen, watching the latest Netflix releases, and spending time with his friends and family. A fun fact about Ryan is that he spent his freshman summer in Australia through Penn Abroad. This is Ryan’s third year on DAB, and his first semester as co-chair!
Alfredo Praticò is a sophomore from Philadelphia studying history. In addition to DAB, he is a Quad RA, involved in the DP, the Student Committee on Undergraduate Education (SCUE) and is a Civic Scholar. In his free time he likes to bike around Philadelphia and drink coffee.
Darlene Sam is a Sophmore from Accra, Ghana studying Health and Societies with a concentration in Healthcare Markets and Finance and a minor in Medical Sociology. She currently serves on the Executive Board as Treasurer and Committee Head of the Racial Justice Commitee, and has previously served on the Mental Health Commitee. In addition to DAB, she is on the board of the Women’s Network UPenn, an advisor for Wharton Undergraduate Consulting Club, a member of the WALK Fashion Magazine’s Beauty team, and a Student mentor for Community School Student Partnerships in West Philly. In her free time, Darlene loves to paint, take pictures, and binge watch Netflix shows.
Yash Rajani is a first-year student in the College intending to major in Mathematical Economics and minor in Healthcare Management from Wharton. While Yash was born in Mumbai, India, he spent most of his childhood in Naples, Florida with his mom, dad, and younger sister. Yash currently serves on DAB’s Executive Board as Marketing Chair and is also the Marketing Committee Head. Outside of DAB, Yash is involved in the Wharton Undergraduate Finance Club and the Undergraduate Economics Society. In his free time, Yash loves playing tennis, exercising, spending time with his family and friends, and cooking. Also, Yash was delivered by his grandmother, who is practiced as an OBGYN in India!

Simone Noorali is a sophomore in the College studying Political Science and Health & Societies. Simone is originally from Dubai, UAE, and is currently the DAB Historian and prior Advising Committee Member. Over quarantine, Simone folded a total of 1000 origami cranes and 400 origami stars.

Alumni Relations Committee Head
Henry Cetina is a sophomore from Rye, NY studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE). In addition to DAB, he is a member of Consult for America, Penn Club Baseball, and Penn Business Roundtable. In his free time, Henry enjoys coin collecting, baseball, and exploring Philly. Henry is excited to serve as the Alumni Relations Committee Head!
Mental Health Committee Head
Rushil Vellala is a Freshman from Naperville, IL studying Economics. Aside from DAB, Rushil is involved in Students Federal Credit Union, Consult Your Community, and Wharton Emerging Markets. In DAB, Rushil is part of the Mental Health Committee, serving as the chair of that committee this semester. In his free time, Rushil loves to try new restaurants and go on adventures with friends.
Molly Gross is a senior from Los Angeles, California studying English with a minor in Consumer Psychology. Throughout her time as part of DAB, Molly was a former Social Chair and Historian and currently serves on the Academics committee. In her free time, she loves to do yoga, spend time with her Golden Retrievers, and explore Philadelphia in search for the best Farmers Market.
Catherine Ruan is a Junior from Agoura Hills, CA studying biology and finance in LSM. Apart from DAB, she is involved in cancer research in Penn Med and Wharton Asia Exchange. In her free time, she loves trying new restaurants and dessert shops, cooking, playing violin, and spending time with friends and family.
Josh is a third-year student from Columbia, Maryland studying Biochemistry and Biology and pursuing his Master’s in Chemistry as part of the Vagelos MLS Scholars Program. Outside of DAB, he is the Founder and Executive Director of EduCare, a research assistant at CHOP, and a teaching assistant in the Chemistry department. Throughout his time as part of DAB, Josh was a former Co-Chair and Treasurer and currently serves on the Academics committee. He is a cold brew fanatic and lover of dogs.
Blake Velick is a Sophomore from Farmington Hills, MI majoring in Cognitive Science and minoring in Consumer Psychology and Theatre Arts. In addition to DAB, he is the secretary of Penn Singers, the logistical coordinator of Quadramics, a teaching assistant in the Statistics department, and a member of the University Honor Council. Also, Blake has been a blogger for Broadway World for the past year, and he can usually be found watching Netflix, spending time with friends, or trying to learn to play the piano.

Eliana Salmon is a Senior from New York City, New York, who is majoring in PPE and minoring in Modern Middle Eastern Studies and Legal Studies. In addition to DAB, she is part of the TAMID Consulting Group and is the President of the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program. In her free time, Eliana likes to dance, listen to Spanish music, and spend time with her friends and family.
Veronica Fenton is a Senior from Penn Valley, Pennsylvania studying Visual Studies and minoring in Psychology. Outside of DAB, she is a research assistant at The Wharton Neuroscience Initiative, costume member of Bloomers Comedy Troop and operates her own baking business. In her free time she loves to bake, watch TV and sew. She currently serves on DAB’s advising committee and was previously the Vice Chair.

Sanaea Bhagwagar is a Junior from North Haven, Connecticut, planning to major in Biology. In addition to DAB, she is involved in research at the Smilow Translational Center and is a member of the CURF UAB. In her free time, she loves running, trying new food, and exploring the city. She is also a huge fan of cupcakes and anything chocolate!

Jenny Ko is a senior from Hong Kong studying Philosophy, Politics, and Economics (PPE) with a minor in Consumer Psychology. She has been a member of DAB since sophomore spring, serving on the college community, mental health, and alumni relations committees. In addition to DAB, she is involved in Varsity Fencing and PennDure, a Korean Drumming Ensemble. In her free time, she loves baking banana bread and exploring cafes and restaurants in Philadelphia.

Talia Fiester is a Sophomore from Princeton, NJ studying Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies and Spanish. In addition to DAB, she works closely with Penn Violence Prevention, helping with their social media, as well as working as a PAVE Educator. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering at the Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House, trying different Philly restaurants, and reading nonfiction. During her time with DAB, she served as Social Chair for two semesters and has previously served on the Mental Health Committee, Racial Justice Committee, and Alumni Relations Committee.

Maya Essimel is a third-year student in the College studying Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (C: Globalization) and minoring in Legal Studies and History. Outside of DAB, she is a legal intern at the Federal Election Commission, a research assistant at Penn Law and at Penn’s School of Public Policy & Social Practice, and a mentor in Big Brothers/Big Sisters Philadelphia. She is originally from New York City and loves to spend her free time listening to true crime podcasts, watching home improvement shows and practicing meditation!
Brittany Darrow is a sophomore from Los Angeles studying Economics with a minor in Legal Studies & History. She has been a member of DAB since her first-year fall, serving on the academics, community, outreach, and marketing committees. In addition to DAB, Brittany serves as the Visit Coordinator for Special Programs for the Kite & Key Society, is the head Copy Editor for The Daily Pennsylvanian, and is involved with the Penn XCTF Club and John Marshall Pre-Law Honor Society. In her free time, she enjoys running on the Schuylkill River Trail, exploring Philadelphia, and watching movies.
Emily Tu is a sophomore from Toronto, Canada. She loves to cook (especially pasta) and watches too many cooking shows. Her favorite things about Philly so far include the warm weather (comparatively!), the 76ers, and Philly cheesesteaks.
Mental Health Committee
Shriya Beesam is a Sophomore from Dallas, TX, in the LSM Dual Degree program at Penn majoring in Computational Biology with an undecided Wharton concentration. She is also a member of the writing team for the Bloomers and is a coxswain for the varsity women’s heavyweight crew team. She’s incredibly passionate about movies and Indian food (if you need recommendations, ask her because she loves to rant). She enjoys indulging in bad Netflix shows during her free time.

Oliver Kaplan is a sophomore in the College studying Philosophy on the pre-law track. When he’s not stuck in traffic at home in Los Angeles, he’s freezing in sub-60 degree weather in Philadelphia. Outside of DAB, Oliver is involved with Penn Hillel, the LGBT Center, and the Transfer Student Organization. In his free time, he enjoys booing the Houston Astros, watching Bob’s Burgers, and spending time with his dog, PJ.
